What are dreams? Famous personalities bombard us
with different definitions. But have you ever thought what exactly dreams are?
See, our dreams are
related with the way we live, breath and behave in front of the society. I have
seen so many people struggling to relate reality with a dream. Our needs are
dressed up as dreams. Imagine dreams as a colorful wrapping paper. We use this
paper to cover up realities. For example; in reality, we know that we need a
house to settle down. It is very dry if it’s just think in that way. We wrap that idea
with a colorful wrapping paper, that is 'dream' and make it more appealing. That same dry reality is now more
motivating and we will work hard to achieve those “dreams”. Dreams will age with
you. It will change according to the experience that a person had. Each
individual will have different dreams as they move forward with life. It will
change according to the current situation you are going through. The things you
dream when you are fifteen won't be the things you dream when you
are a thirty years old. Let’s travel through my timeline of dreams
When I was studying in
5th standard, my biggest dream was to become a cricketer. My friends
used to tease me when I tell them about my dream. They used to hit me with the
same old “have you ever seen a fat cricketer”. I hit them back with, “I’ll be
the first one”.
Time flew; now I’m studying
in 8th standard. It was a year that I can never forget. I got into
the world of music. I started to listen. I found the drummer inside me. At that
time, my biggest dream was to accompany the Mozart of Madras, A R Rahman as his
live drummer. Another small dream that I had, was to purchase a drum kit. I
waited for two years and my parents bought me my first ever drum kit. A Mapex
Voyager. A kit, which I considered as the
finest drum kit in the budget line-up of Mapex. She is my baby. She’s still
with me.
My dream for the past
two years is to buy back my first motorcycle. It’s a 2005 Hero Honda Glamour. I
started regretting my decision of selling it from the day I sold it.
And the
most important dream that I have like every other middle-class guy is to gift my
parents a beautiful house.
And you got it right;
my dream house will have at least 4 garages. I will fill every one of them
with my vehicles. Mostly motorcycles though. Can’t wait to get a job and work hard to achieve my dreams.
