From LML Supremo to Kawasaki RTZ to TVS Victor GX to Hero Honda Glamour to Suzuki Access to now Honda Unicorn!
Riding with father always feels safe and there will be something to learn each time!
The way he rides, change gears, and the overall control shows that he knows what he's doing!
The blessing that many of us including me and my cousin Goutham are the first bike of us being the old one our fathers used.
I had the honor of riding the good old Hero Honda Glamour a bike which was used by both my uncle and father! She was my sweetheart. When our parents handover the bike to us, they trust us with their lifelong hard work and will give many bits of advice to ride safely and take proper care of the vehicle.
Had to sell the bike 2 years ago! I still miss her!
And, Goutham still rocks the old Kawasaki Boxer AT!
Thanks to the new set of rules, roads are now deluged with people wearing helmets. 9 out of 10 people are using a helmet now. But still, fellow bikers are in need of a proper counselling. Wearing a helmet, a proper "branded helmet" (full-face preferred) is a necessity. The ones that are available on the platforms are not good. They won't protect you in case of an accident.
See, my idea of being responsible on the roads came from loving my motorcycle. It will be much easier when you think about it like that.
Imagine,
On a fine day, you are commuting to work, cruising at around 50 kph. A squid came in with a stupidly powered motorcycle and blipped his throttle to provoke you. You are on a decently powered motorcycle and you know it’s real easy for you to give him some dust. What will you do?
Instead of going on a fully fledged chase, just think ’revving my engine will smother my motorcycle to death'.
Yeah. As simple as that.
I know, it sounds absolutely absurd. But that same absurd idea could save your life.
It saved mine and it continues to do the same.
If it caused damage to your feeling, do nothing but take a break. Have a sip of hot tea and resume after.
In my opinion, instead of gifting your kid a new powerful motorcycle gift them your old one and teach them how to love it, take care of it and the importance of responsible riding, like our fathers did to us! It may help a lot with loss of many young chaps in road accidents! It certainly helped us with the way we ride.
By loving your motorcycle, you get to be responsible and you will get enough time to enjoy your life.
Be a responsible rider, wear helmets, be an example for the upcoming generation, love your family and friends, and finally love yourself by loving your machine.
Thanking my father for everything he taught me!
