The Other Side. (IFFK, Day 5)

The fifth day was very annoying. As per the usual plan of action, each hotel will have minimum of two cabs. From that day, there was a huge change in the plan. Our travel coordinator told us that, the cabs will no more haul in the respective hotels. And we have to call him in-order to arrange the cab. It stabbed us right in the chest.

One of our guests wanted to go to the movies. She came to us on the last minute. We got only 15 minutes in our hand. We called up for the cab ASAP. But it was too late. At the last moments we got a cab and started from the hotel. The guest arrived late.

In the afternoon, when we were arranging the lunch coupon for the day, I got a call from Judy Gladstone. She said to me that she was stuck in auto rickshaw. Apparently, some of the people from theatre put her in auto because of the shortage for the cabs. I talked with the auto driver and directed him to the Horizon hotel. She was really scared and complained me about the whole situation. I was helpless.

After making the arrangements for the dinner, we left to Tagore theatre. Tagore is the core vibe place of the IFFK. It’s the heart of the whole IFFK. A group of musicians were performing that night. We grooved for some time and finished our dinner. After the dinner, we hung at Tagore for some time.

The vibe that Tagore has is irreplaceable. After catching up with my buddies about that day, we went out for a tea at ‘Manaveeyam Veedhi’. And then went to ‘Nishagandhi’. I realized that Trivandrum is much sexier in the night time. There is something very beautiful that differs Trivandrum from other cities.

Peppa.

May 29th of 2020 marked the 60th bday of my dearest peppa, Dr T Neelakantan. The pillar of our family. The word (Peppa is the shortform of Periyappa, father's elder brother) I know, these penny amount of words won't be just enough to communicate my happiness and respect towards him. Though a humble attempt to do so. My love for motorcycles and vehicles in general, came from my father. But, my interest in photography and cameras came from Peppa.  Peppa, A teacher by profession, now enjoying his retired life and recently took a promotion as grand father. A Professional Photography Hobbyist, Nikon lover, an expert in almost every genre of photography, music lover (especially vintage songs), a tech enthusiast and a fully equipped tech adviser, a huge nature lover, a person with a big heart, and mainly, the backbone of our family.  Peppa and his photos play a major part in my life. Sometimes I wonder, What would have happened if he never gifted me that Canon Po...

Crispy Outside, Fluffy Inside.

The ‘Potti Hotel’ culture is very famous in Thiruvananthapuram. These hotels are usually found near temples. Malayalees all over the world would love to have a delicious meal from a pure vegetarian ‘Potti Hotel’ after a blissful visit to temple. In Trivandrum, there are two famous eateries that are known for the quality and taste they provide. If you are a Trivian, you should be knowing of these famous names. ‘Venkadesha Bhavan’ and ‘Balaji Cafe’. See, speaking as a ‘TamBhram’ from Trivandrum, the word Karavada will make me drool all over the place. The two eateries that I mentioned, makes the best Karavadas in town. As an ardent fan and a regular customer of both of them, I am happy to share my experience. The Karavada from Balaji Cafe is a little bit small in size compared to the ones from Venkadesha Bhavan. The sides for this evening snack are Sambar and Chutney. Though both of these eateries provide good quality sides, Venkadesha Bhavan’s sambar and chutney is my personal f...
